From The Young Dubliners newswire:

July is now in high gear and we are about to hit the road for a 4 week stint through the East Coast, Midwest and Rocky Mountains. There are three major festivals involved and a big radio fest in Kentucky. Add to that a bunch of dates in the coolest of all East Coast venues and a gig with the Dropkick Murphys and you have a summer tour to be reckoned with.

After that we have a brief trip back to Denmark for the Toender Festival, one of the biggest and best in that country. All in all not a bad way to spend the remaining summer months. Hope you can all make one or more of these shows as we are hoping to impress you all with the new songs from Saints and Sinners.

We are also interested in hearing from anyone from Albany NY who plans to attend our Hunter Mountain show . Please respond to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are making that trip.

Thanks guys and see ya soon
Keith

From the ETH Newsletter...

Festival season is fully underway - we had an awesome time as the closing act at the Vancouver Island Music Fest this past weekend - I finally got to meet Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer and Del McCoury, and shared a plate of delicious smoked salmon with Steven Page! Thanks again to all the volunteers, crew and organizers for making the festival such a flawless success. Can't wait for next year!

We're heading for the OTHER ocean now - catch ETH at Jonathan's in Ogunquit, ME tomorrow night! This tour takes us back to a few of our all-time favorite festivals: Glasgowlands Scottish Games; the Greater Hartford Irish Fest; Summerfest in Agawam, MA; and of course, the always incredible Great American Irish Fest in Frankfort, NY (with our buddies The Elders!) Read on for the full tour schedule.

In other news: we've got new t-shirts coming very soon, along with some other goodies. We're currently selling Rootstomp 2 at shows (a compilation we've put together of some great comtemporary Celtic bands) and we're putting together a cool new contest (details soon!) I'll tell you this: the top prize is a signed iPod Touch full of ETH music, including some unreleased stuff. Intrigued?

As always, you can find everything your Haggis-Head-Heart desires in our online store!

For Tour Dates and the link to the online store, read on!

Remembering Apollo 11 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ron Crowe
Monday, 20 July 2009 17:12

40 years ago, three human beings - with the help of thousands of others - left our planet on a journey to our Moon, setting foot on another world for the first time. Today marks the 40th anniversary of the July 20, 1969 moon landing of Apollo 11, with astronauts Neil A. Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin E. "Buzz" Aldrin Jr. aboard.

The entire trip lasted 8 days - the time spent on the surface was less than one day, the entire time spent walking on the moon, a mere 2 1/2 hours - but they were surely historic hours. Several scientific experiments were deployed (at least one still in use today), samples were collected, and photographs were taken to document the entire journey. In the words of Buzz Aldrin: "In this one moment, the world came together in peace for all mankind".
