Vernal Equinox 2009 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Friday, 20 March 2009 13:16

Today marks the Vernal Equinox for 2009. An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the Sun being vertically above a point on the Equator. In ancient Celtic and Germanic traditions the Vernal Equinox is referred to as Ostara from which derives the word Easter. Ostara was also known as Alban Eilar or "Light of the Earth" to the Druids and celebrated as high spring. It is a time when flowers and burgeoning life open up for the growing season. Ostara is balanced by Mabon or the Autumnal Equinox on the Celtic Wheel of the Year.

We wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day for 2009. As Celtic Grove enters our 10th year we are reminded of all the happy St. Patrick's days that have gone before. It is a time of celebration of Irish culture which is now shared all over the world. We are also reminded of the work of St. Patrick himself, a man whose faith helped to shape Ireland and whose legacy carries on to the present day. So from our family to yours and to all our friends around the globe we give 3 cheers for a Happy St. Patrick's Day 2009.

We've just received some St. Patrick's News from the Young Dubliners. Check out their website for more.

"Hey everyone, we have finally arrived at the St Paddys run up and we have HUGE news.
We will be on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on Mar 17th!!! Don't worry, we will also be doing all our gigs but this is the biggest break we have had to date so set those recording devices and capture history.

We will be in Southern Call all week starting at the Downtown Brew in San Luis Obispo tonight Mar 12th. Then its the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano on Fri Mar 13th for a big big show with the Gobshites and others. This is a great sounding venue to see the band playing with Eric Rigler on the pipes.

Then we head to the Key Club in Los Angeles. This is our LA show and we are gong to blow the roof off our adopted home. We have a few surprises for you all at that show also so grab your tix quick by calling the Keyclub direct. They are almost all gone we hear. Don't be locked out of the LA homecoming show. This will be one for the books, The full 6 piece band and all the new album songs.

There are also a handful of the VIP meet and Greet tix left on our website. Those of you who bought tix from our website can just go to the Will Call window on the night and your name is on a list. Pick up your tix then.

Come hear the new songs live in rockin So Cal venues this weekend.
See ya out there
K"
